The Jazzabelles

The Jazzabelles is a musical by Belfast composer Nick Boyle, about three women in Belfast in the 1950s who form a jazz trio and work their way up, through religious bigotry, an abusive husband and a blackmail plot against their in-the-closet manager, to play the Floral Hall. The production toured theatres in Northern Ireland before having a run at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast in 2018. The cast had undergone some changes by then – my poster features the original 2015 trio, (right to left) Claire McCartney, Beccy Henderson and Samantha McMillan.
