I’m Patrick (Paddy) Brown, an illustrator, musician, singer and actor from Belfast, Northern Ireland.

My graphic novel, The Cattle Raid of Cooley, was serialised online between 2008 and 2015. My work has appeared in the comic anthologies Lightning StrikeRomantic Mayhem, Courageous Mayhem, Futurequake, and Superstate Funnies. Commissions include advertising illustrations for Barclay Communications, and lettering for Irish language comic inserts for computer games Millennium and Science Girls.

I appeared in Nick Boyle’s original musical The Jazzabelles, directed by Dan Leith, in rehearsed readings in Belfast in July 2015, and in the full production in Omagh, Antrim, Lisburn, Downpatrick and Armagh in February 2016, for which I also designed the poster. I have also performed in Max and Ivan’s The Reunion (The Mac, Belfast, 1 March 2014), in cabaret shows at the Crescent Arts Centre (“A Class Act”, 30 June 2013; “Strictly Not the Xmas Factor”, 14 December 2014), and at weddings and open mic nights. I’m the lead guitarist and co-lead singer with the Proposition Blues Band.

Preferred contact method is by email. I’m on Twitter as @paddy_brown, but I don’t use it much.

    Hello,

Hello, I’m a filmmaker from Derry and I’m currently planninig to produce a documentary on the growing culture of comics, the struggles of independent publishing in ireland and how social media is currently being used in both advertising and interacting with the wider community of comic creators and fans. Seeing as you’re going to’ be in Derry for Comic City comic city, would you be up for a small interview?

Hello there Paddy, I have in my possession all 15 issues of Scream. I’m looking to sell them . I was wondering if you could give me some advice on how much I should be asking for them. I would say they are in an average condition.
A reply would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Mark.
