Would that be Niall and Ciaran Vallely? I saw their “Flight of the Earls” show at the Grand Opera House in Belfast last year. They have a website at http://www.vallelymusic.com if that’s any use to you.

I have some Vallelys in my family tree too – my great great grandmother was Rebecca Jane Vallely, but I haven’t been able to get any further back than her father Thomas.

    Hello paddybrown,

Niall and Ciaran Vallely are from Co. Armagh. They learnt their music from their parents … Brian and Eithne, who founded the Armagh Pipers’ Club.

Is there also a musical Vallely family from Larne?

    Christopher

I believe she came from Carrickfergus, although I’m not sure about that. The only certain addresses I have for her are Blenheim Street and Crimea Street, both off the Shankill Road in Belfast. Her father was Thomas Vallely, who I think came from Armagh. Have you read my potted biography of her son, my great grandfather Tommy Magill?

    Hello there,

I gather ’twas yourself had something today with putting me on the Irish Comics Wiki, thanks! Finally something about me on the internet which I hadn’t actually put there myself! The I had to go and ruin it all by adding stuff myself about being from Athlone etc ..!

I’ve been reading and enjoying your Táin Bó Cúailgne for quite a while now – and have a link to it from my blog…

    Best of luck!

    Donal Casey

    Paddy,
Just got round to checking your site. And more of that great work of yours.
You do a lot of sales in the US? Lots of Irish-Americans’d go for that who aren’t regular comic fans, I’m sure. You ought to get in some specialist outlets for those folks somehow.
Anyway, best of luck, and good meeting you in Derry : )
    David.
