    Modern people are always amazed to find out that “Slingers” were so deadly! Being able to use a sling was like having a gun (with the projectiles flying at bullet-like velocities), and with practice they were amazingly accurate. Slingers were the elite and most-sought warriors of ancient armies, because without them your side would probably not prevail. The Romans went so far as to cast uniform-sized shot that can still be found on ancient battlegrounds.
    Although he looks to be past the sophistication of a weapon like that at this point, those guys shouldn’t have gotten a slinger angry!

    Though it would be of note to say that he did not sling that particular stone. Merely thrown. Take that, ye ornery goddess.
